27 Rest Day

After 10 hours of sleep, I was up at 6:30 am and had all my chores done by 9:30. Actually, Ross and Bob did laundry so my only chore was yesterday’s narrative. No one else was interested in cycling into Pittsburgh proper. They were men of the world who had already seen more and better things. Then Jimmy saved the day by also trying to convince someone to ride into Pittsburgh

After my cycling clothes came out of the dryer, Jimmy and I saddled up and headed north. The GAP was well marked and easily navigated till downtown when we encountered a detour due to construction.

No problem, it made us tour more of the downtown. Having recently cycled through both Philadelphia and Pittsburgh, I must give the nod to Pittsburgh for beauty. It’s no longer a smoky dingy town and seemed to have cracked the rust belt problem.

While there we visited Cycling Heaven, cycling museum with more old bikes and old parts than I though existed. It was a real walk through memory lane for Jimmy and me. The cycle back was direct and quick. We had a late lunch at Chick-Fil-a. I’m now contemplating a return for a butterscotch shake before preparing for tomorrow.
