BOB's Day 6 - Hiatus #2

HIATUS #2 Saturday 7 October

Physical and mental preparation for onward travel continues apace here in Waynesboro, with my truncated itinerary further curtailed by the unavailability of rental cars. 

My revised plan was to end in Wytheville but the usual search engines couldn't procure me a vehicle. When I rang Enterprise direct, I was told stock was low and one way rentals off the agenda. The other transport option was greyhound from nearby Fort Chiswell,  but I would have had to rely on the whim of the driver on the day, to relax the formal packing requirements.

 To cut a long story short, my plan now is to cycle from Troutville on Tuesday October 11th and pick up the (already booked) hire car at Roanoke airport. If I can get in the car promptly, I should be able to cover the 450 miles to Hendersonville that same day.  If that doesn't work out, I'll hunker down somewhere for the night, to break the journey.
